graphic & digital designer
With over 10 years of print experience, taking jobs from concept to final artwork,
what I've forgotten about print wasn't worth remembering.
Don't ask me to get out the Crayola just yet, these are all digital illustrations. My style varies depending on whether it is for a specific project/client or just me having fun, but I always enjoy coming up with new characters and styles.

Now I’m not claiming I can make the next Toy Story but I am damned nifty in a 3d package. I have a lot of experience in building retail environments, product/POS visualisation, animation and just generally experimenting.

In collaboration with my brother at Design.Build.Play we have successfully conceptualised, designed, built and brought two apps to market....
Watch this space as we are always working on more ideas.
Totally forgot I can also design and build websites...
well I built this one from scratch.
This is more of a hobby than a claim, I love taking pics and editing them, but aside from that what I have a lot of experience in is art directing photo shoots as this has always gone hand in hand with projects that I have worked on.
I have produced both print and digital publications for a wide variety of clients, and usually take a job from concept design to finished print.
Matthew T Hinton is an aspiring DJ and I have produced several of his EP artworks, With just a name of the EP to go by, the rest is up to me.

A couple of sections from a video celebrating their achievements of the past year. I came up with the concept and took it through to final production.
I have always loved to experiment with different design styles and print techniques and I normally start this process by producing a poster. These range from commissioned pieces to personal projects. for several years I have exhibited at Urban Art in Brixton.
Before this crazy fool did his jump from space we needed to produce a pack/can design and all POS to accompany it. This involved producing several key images of what it may have looked like from his perspective as well as branding, design and artwork for all internal and consumer use.
Red Bull stratos
For the past 5 years I have designed the logo for The Princes Trust Celebrate Success Awards which aims to find the young people with the most outstanding and inspirational stories from across the country.
These posters were part of the pitch for when Red Bull took over the London eye for the night.
These concepts never made the final cut but were always my preferred options. in the past 6 years working with Red Bull I have been involved in a huge range of campaigns, from men driving fast cars to men falling from space.

so who is urban ape?
My name is Jack Freeman, a London based Creative Graphic and Digital designer. With over 10 years of industry experience working with a large variety of varied clients, spanning everything from traditional print/digital design through to virtual 3d walkthroughs and augmented reality.
I am the ideas man, coming up with the concepts, and how things should look and feel is where my passion lies. Striving to push my abilities as a designer, I love exploring new areas of the industry, expanding my skill set so that I can take on any job with a multi-disciplined approach.
I started out life in print, specialising in branding, photo-retouching, artworking and packaging design. Over the years I have moved into motion, 3D visualisation, app's and web, but my core values are still the same – it doesn't matter what format the end product is, I still aim to provide insight, experience and creative knowledge.
One of my greatest assets is taking any problem and working out the best and most effective ways to approach it. I believe this is one of the reasons I have such a diverse skill set, using different techniques to get the job done.
